Step 1 Research schools that align with your preferences (location, size, cost, area of study, etc.).
Step 2 Submit AUN Study Abroad Application.
Step 3 Apply to the school of your choice as a visiting student.
Step 4 If accepted, acquire a student visa.
Step 5 While in the process of acquiring a visa, consult with faculty and academic advisors about the process for selecting appropriate courses that will satisfy AUN major and general education requirements.
Step 6 Complete the ‘Permit to Study Form and submit to the Registrar (make sure to keep a copy of this completed form) prior to your departure from campus. (Note: It is wise to receive approval for at least 8-10 courses, in case students are unable to register for their first choice of courses.)
Step 7 As a visiting student, identify an advisor in the institution who can monitor and support you during your studies. Students should also have regular(i.e.monthly) correspondence with their AUN faculty and academic advisors.
Step 8 After completion of studies,request (at least) two official transcripts – – one to be sent to AUN Registrar’s Office and one for your personal records.
Step 9 Meet with your faculty and academic advisor when you arrive back on campus.
Step 10 Share your experience with fellow students and attend informational workshops on study abroad opportunities.
